OPHELIA REDPATH EXHIBITION

Born in 1965, Ophelia is a Cambridge-based artist, and her career as a painter spans over 30 years.

She approaches much of her work as an observer stumbling on a scene.  Though figurative, Ophelia's paintings often contain surreal elements, inspired by literature, music and hearsay, often with undercurrents of humour.

Ophelia works mostly in oil on canvas, and she also works graphically in pen and ink.

Ophelia has written and illustrated two books – The Lemur’s Tale, a picture book for children; and An ABC of Cambridge Professors, a humorous illustrated coffee table book for adults.  In the pipeline is a sequel to “The Lemur’s Tale”, and a couple more children’s picture books.

Ophelia has  exhibited both nationally and internationally, and  her work has been collected over the years by loyal clients, who include Clive James and Joanna Lumley.
