22 February 2020 | 3.00pm | £10 for Participants, free to observers.

£25 for Workshop, Afternoon Concert & Talk, and Evening concert

Once you have booked a place Stapleford Granary will contact you regarding what you would like to play and on which instrument.

As part of a series exploring the complete sonatas for piano and violin by Beethoven, violinist Savitri Grier and pianist Richard Uttley host a workshop for young and adult amateur musicians.

Solo pianists, solo violinists, and violinists and pianists playing together are invited. The music played need not be by Beethoven, but pieces from around the same time or in some way influenced by Beethoven would be preferred.

There is also a talk (at 11:30)  afternoon (13:00) and evening concert (19:30)

These are sold as three separate ticketed events  but if you book both concerts and the workshop a discount is available.

To get the discount please book each event separately and the discount will be applied at the check out. The workshop is in our course section.

A second event is scheduled for 21 February 2021.

Savitri has given masterclasses in the UK and at the Qatar Music Academy, Doha. She has led schools workshops in France, and across London for The Worshipful Company of Musicians Outreach Programme. In 2019 she spent three weeks in Guatemala teaching children for the organisation “El Sonido de Balanya - ein Dorf erklingt”.

Richard teaches at City University, Guildhall School, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and the Royal College of Music Junior Department. He records for the CDs that accompany the ABRSM Piano Syllabus and has filmed performances and tutorials for Edition Peters’ Piano Masterworks educational series, available on the Tido Music iPad app.
