T-Khut; Kora, percussion, voice

Faradina Afifi; viola, cello, voice

Tony Phillips, mandola, acoustic 12 string guitar, voice
The Kora (West African harp) is one of the oldest classical instruments of the Mandinka people's, griot tradition. T-Khut studied, African percussion and marimbas under master musicians Thebe L'ipere and Eugene Skeef, from South Africa in the 80's. Playing the kora for 10 years now, T-Khut and the Sea Shells present a repertoire, inspired by the Griot masters, arranged with strin hgs and guitars from local musicians with a 'kinda' folk, jazz and punk background, and adept improvisational skills.
Come and join T-Khut for a totally uplifting workshop later, and develop a percussion piece in 6/8 timing with counterpoint and off beat rhythms.
