‘Maran is a mesmeric storyteller.’ The Stage

Directed by Patrick Sandford
Sound designed by Frances M Lynch and Herbie Clarke

John Muir explored the forests and glaciers of the Pacific North West and inspired environmental movements all over the world. He saved the life of his friend, the Reverend Samuel Hall Young, on a mountaintop in Alaska and rescued Young’s dog, a plucky wee terrier, called Stickeen, from a glacier crevasse. In this moving new drama, Sam Young, played by Mike Maran, remembers the life of his friend.

If you are familiar with Mike Maran’s theatrical work (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, The Little World of Don Camillo, A Funny Valentine,...) you’ll love this. If you haven’t seen Mike before you will be spellbound.
