We are delighted to welcome world-class performers Ian Clarke & Tim Carey to the Granary for our first flute and piano concert. Ian is a breath-taking and dramatic player who uses extended techniques to amaze and transfix audiences. Ian & Tim will be joined by participants on the afternoon flute workshop for a couple of numbers.

Ian Clarke is acknowledged as one of the leading player/composers in the flute world. His compositions have been performed across five continents on stages ranging from London’s South Bank to the Glastonbury Rock Festival and have been featured in countless recitals including four consecutive BBC Young Musician Woodwind finals. Ian has performed as a featured guest soloist in Canada, Italy, Brazil, France, Iceland, Slovenia, Hungary, Netherlands and numerous times for the British Flute Society and for the National Flute Association in the USA. Ian is professor of flute at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has given masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Northern and Trinity College of Music.
Tim Carey (Piano) Tim’s career as a solo, ensemble and orchestral pianist has taken him to four continents. He has worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Bournemouth orchestras and the Ulster Orchestra; gives regular solo recitals in Kuwait and is the doyen of flute accompanists, as pianist for some of the world's top flautists and for countless courses.
