Such praise is commonplace when describing the playing of concert pianist Reiko Fujisawa. Since making her solo debut at the Southbank Centre in 1999, and at the Wigmore Hall soon after, Reiko has established herself as an exciting and formidable virtuoso performer on the concert platform.
Reiko has appeared at prestigious venues across the UK and abroad, including King’s Place London, the festivals of Belfast, Brighton, Chichester, Warwick and Leamington, and overseas in Japan and South Africa. Her unique upbringing and training continues to influence her musical outlook. Studying in Tokyo, San Francisco, and London – the city she has since called home – Reiko’s playing embodies a European sensibility that has its roots in musical Japan. Her recitals often engage this heritage, incorporating works by contemporary Japanese composers as well as the Classical masters.
